PostSubject: Tenran Chao Yu - Senior Operative, Ace Trainer/Tag Battler/Type Ace (Dark)/Strategist   Sun Jan 19, 2014 10:23 pm

A week has passed since Tenran and Gus saved the Hoenn Safari Zone on Route 121. Tenran opted to stay in Hoenn after that mission, and now some of its citizens have witnessed the very large Pokémon-like creature in the sky that was first spotted in Johto about a month ago. He always takes flight outside the cities and towns, to prevent panicking, and from someone getting eaten.

The egg he received from the research base in northern Johto has hatched into a female Snorunt while in the city. He named her Hiroko. Tenran had made Hiroko watch, and participate in, a few mock battles using his own Pokémon to at least give her an idea how a battle flows.

The next day, he took flight from Lilycove City and headed westward, eventually stopping outside of Rustboro City. He left pretty early to maximize his time. Tenran rushed to the Pokémon Center to change his roster and train them.

Current party:
Valar - Lv. 7 Nidoran♂
Hiroko - Lv. 5 Snorunt
Orthros - Lv. 38 Grimer
Raet - Lv. 35 Sigilyph
Lorenzo - Lv. 20 Tangela
Plate - Lv. 20 Bronzor

After changing his team, Tenran headed south towards Petalburg Woods via Route 104. The time is 10:30am.

Encounter Roll:
Area: Plains
d100: 19
d6: 2

Outcome:
Doduo A - Lv. 9
Doduo B - Lv. 10

A pair of Doduos racing on the plains noticed Tenran, and they seemed pissed at his presence. Though he might be able to take them on by his lonesome, Tenran decided it was time for both Valar's and Hiroko's debut, so he sent them both out.

Speeds:
Doduo A - 10
Doduo B - 10
Hiroko - 6
Valar - 6

Turn 1:
Tenran stands his ground.
Doduo A used Growl (d4: 3), affecting only Hiroko (d20: 5) and decreased her attack by one stage.
Doduo B moved beside Valar and used Quick Attack (d4: 1) on him (d20: 1) and horribly missed its mark.
Hiroko used Powder Snow on Doduo A (d20: 16) and dealt 46 super effective damage. Doduo A faints (-17/29 HP).
Valar used Peck on Doduo B (d20: 16) and dealt 28 damage.

Turn 2:
Doduo B used Peck on Valar (d20: 9) and dealt 21 damage (4/25 HP).
Valar used Peck on Doduo B (d20: 7) and dealt 31 damage. Doduo B faints (-24/35 HP).

Encounter Results:
Hiroko and Valar each gained 114 EXP
Hiroko grew to level 6
________________________________________________________________________________________

Tenran pushed forward, eventually reaching a small lake or pond with a bridge nearby. He decided to stop and eat some lunch. He the sent out all his Pokémon to eat as well.

Current party:
Valar - Lv. 7 Nidoran♂
Hiroko - Lv. 6 Snorunt
Orthros - Lv. 38 Grimer
Raet - Lv. 35 Sigilyph
Lorenzo - Lv. 20 Tangela
Plate - Lv. 20 Bronzor

Encounter Rolls:
Area: Lake
d100: 91
d6: 3

Outcome:
Buizel A - Lv. 9
Buizel B - Lv. 21
Buizel C - Lv. 26

Just as they were about to start eating, three Buizels jumped out of the water and attacked them. They smelled the food and perhaps haven't eaten in a while. Tenran sent Lorenzo and Plate to the front to battle.

Speeds:
Buizel C - 22
Buizel B - 19
Buizel A - 8
Lorenzo - 6
Plate - 2

Turn 1:
Buizel C used Pursuit (d7: 3) on Lorenzo (d20: 15) and dealt 11 damage.
Buizel B used Growl (d7: 6) and hits everyone else(d20: 12), reducing their attack by one stage.
Buizel A used Growl (d4: 2) and hits everyone else as well (d20: 15), reducing their attack one more stage.
Lorenzo used Bind on Buizel C (d20: 11) and dealt 21 damage and is trapped for 5 turns (d4: 4, +1).
Plate used Confusion on Buizel B (d20: 6) and dealt 29 damage.

Turn 2:
Buizel C can't move and takes 12 damage from Bind's effect (1).
Buizel B used Swift (d7: 1) on Lorenzo (d20: 10) and dealt 16 damage.
Buizel A used Growl (d4: 2) once more, hitting everyone again (d20: 15), reducing attack one more stage.
Lorenzo used Giga Drain on Buizel B (d20: 20) and dealt 124 super effective critical damage. Buizel B faints, and is on the brink of death (-72/81 HP). Lorenzo is fully healed (+27 HP).
Plate used Confusion on Buizel A (d20: 3) and dealt 30 damage.

Turn 3:
Buizel C can't move and takes 7 damage from Bind's effect (2).
Buizel A used Sonicboom (d4: 4) on Plate (d20: 15) and deals 15 damage.
Lorenzo used Vine Whip on Buizel C (d20: 6) and deals 44 damage. Buizel C faints (-6/71 HP).
Plate uses Tackle on Buizel A (d20: 20) and deals 47 critical damage. Buizel A faints and is critically wounded (-33/44 HP).

Encounter Results:
Lorenzo and Plate each gained 336 EXP

Tenran and his Pokémon opt to eat on the move to hopefully prevent others from catching them, unless it's another ambush. Luckily no encounters happened, and they eventually reached the entrance to the forest. It's already dark, though, so camping it is.

PostSubject: Re: Tenran Chao Yu - Senior Operative, Ace Trainer/Tag Battler/Type Ace (Dark)/Strategist   Wed Jan 29, 2014 11:24 pm

Tenran woke up early, and packed away his camp soon after breakfast. He headed straight into Petalburg Woods to get some training in. The time is 7:30 AM

Current party:
Valar - Lv. 7 Nidoran♂
Hiroko - Lv. 6 Snorunt
Orthros - Lv. 38 Grimer
Raet - Lv. 35 Sigilyph
Lorenzo - Lv. 20 Tangela
Plate - Lv. 20 Bronzor

Encounter Roll:
Area: Forest
d100: 26
d6: 5

Outcome:
Pidgey A - Lv. 14
Pidgey B - Lv. 14
Pidgeotto - Lv. 29
Pidgeot A - Lv. 33
Pidgeot B - Lv. 35

Two Pidgeots, a Pidgeotto and two Pidgeys blocked Tenran's path. They don't seem to want anyone to pass by. Tenran stepped back a bit and sent out Valar and Hiroko.

Speeds:
Pidgeot B - 22
Pidgeotto - 21
Pidgey A - 13
Pidgey B - 11
Pidgeot A - 8
Valar - 6
Hiroko - 6

Turn 1:
Pidgeot B moved to Valar's front-left and used Agility (d7: 1) and its speed increased to 33.
Pidgeotto moved towards Hiroko and used Quick Attack (d6: 4) and attacked her (d20: 1) and missed by miles. Valar and Hiroko now recognize how a Quick Attack works, and now will make them harder to hit with it (Move Recognition).
Pidgey A moved just in front of Valar and used Sand-Attack (d4: 3) to blind him (d20: 3) and it almost hit (+2 AC from Dual Interference). They now know how to evade that attack better (Move Recognition).
Pidgey B used Gust on Valar (d4: 2), hoping that he will be blown away and hit a tree (d20: 6) and just barely hit, dealing 7 damage (18/25 HP). He wasn't blown away though, nor did he slam into a tree. Move Recognition applies to Gust now, as well.
Pidgeot A used Gust on Hiroko (d7: 6) to blow her away (d20: 3) and it barely missed her.
Seeing three birds lined up nicely, Tenran ordered Hiroko to use Powder Snow on them (d20: 19). It dealt 54 super effective damage to Pidgey A. It fainted (0/54 HP); 52 super effective damage to Pidgeotto (32/84 HP) and Pidgeot B (93/145 HP) and freezing them both.
Valar moved beside Hiroko and used Focus Energy.

Turn 2:
Pidgeot B tried to defrost itself and it failed to do so (d20: 3).
Pidgeotto tried as well, but also failed (d20: 14).
Pidgey B charged towards Hiroko using Tackle (d4: 4) and it connected (d20: 8), dealing 16 damage (21/37 HP).
Pidgeot A moves near Pidgeotto and used Agility (d7: 1), increasing its speed to 12.
Hiroko used Powder Snow on Pidgeot A and hit (d20: 8), dealing 50 super effective damage (53/103 HP).
Valar used Peck on Pidgey B and hits cleanly (d20: 20), dealing 48 critical damage. Pidgey B faints (-9/39 HP).

Turn 3:
Pidgeot B tried to defrost itself once again and still failed to do so (d20: 2).
Pidgeotto tried once more, and failed as well (d20: 11).
Pidgeot A used Whirlwind (d7: 4) on Valar after seeing it take out one of the Pidgeys, but missed (d20: 1).
Hiroko used Powder Snow on Pidgeot A and hit (d20: 11), dealing 48 super effective damage (5/103 HP).
Valar used Peck to attack Pidgeot A as well and hit (d20: 12), dealing 33 damage. Pidgeot A faints (-28/103 HP).

Turn 4:
Pidgeot B tried to defrost itself once again and still failed to do so (d20: 8).
Pidgeotto tried as well, and unfreezes itself (d20: 18).
Hiroko snapped to her feet and blasted Pidgeotto with another Powder Snow and hit once more (d20: 15), dealing 58 super effective damage. Pidgeotto drops to the ground as well (-26/84 HP).
Valar used Leer on Pidgeot B, lowering its defense (d20: 7).

Turn 5:
Pidgeot B tried to defrost itself and finally succeeded (d20: 17).
Valar strikes first with Peck and critically hits (d20: 17), dealing 38 critical damage (55/145 HP).
Hiroko used Powder Snow, with Tenran hoping it will end with this, and hits (d20: 8). It dealt 56 super effective damage. It was indeed the last hit; Pidgeot B faints (-1/145 HP).

Encounter Results:
Hiroko and Valar each gained 2814 EXP
Hiroko grew to Level 13 and learned Bite and Icy Wind
Valar grew to Level 13 and learned Double Kick and Poison Sting

"Lady Luck's on my side today, I guess." Tenran said, as he tended to his Pokémon. After that battle, he decided to take a look at what the Pidgeots might have been protecting or hiding there. As it turned out, it was their nest up in the trees. Mating season just ended and the eggs have just been laid. Tenran contemplated on taking an egg, but eventually decided not to. He instead left a bottle of MooMoo Milk for the Pidgeot family.

As he was about to put the bottle down, a bright light shone from near his bag. Hiroko had accidentally stumbled upon Tenran's Dawn Stone in the bag. When the light died down, Hiroko had already changed--she had evolved into a Froslass.
________________________________________________________________________________________

Tenran headed deeper into the woods, eager for more training. He has walked for quite some time without much going on, which is odd for even a forest teeming with Pokémon. He heard a faint sound of attacks being launched at something, and headed towards those sounds. The time is 3 PM.

Current party:
Valar - Lv. 13 Nidoran♂
Hiroko - Lv. 13 Froslass
Orthros - Lv. 38 Grimer
Raet - Lv. 35 Sigilyph
Lorenzo - Lv. 20 Tangela
Plate - Lv. 20 Bronzor

Encounter Roll:
Area: Forest
d100: 67
d6: 6

Outcome:
Breloom A - Lv. 46
Breloom B - Lv. 34
Breloom C - Lv. 48
Breloom D - Lv. 41
Breloom E - Lv. 45
Breloom F - Lv. 36

A group of six Brelooms were sparring with each other. They seemed to be preparing for something big. Tenran accidentally stepped on a twig and snapped it, alerting them of an intruder nearby. Tenran immediately sprung out of the bushes and sent out Raet and Orthros to the fore.

Speeds:
Raet - 18
Breloom F - 18
Breloom A - 13
Breloom C - 13
Breloom B - 11
Breloom D - 11
Breloom E - 10
Orthros - 3

Turn 1:
Breloom F moved to Raet's front and used Dynamicpunch (d7: 1) and just missed (d20: 13). Both Raet and Orthros now know when a Dynamicpunch is on the way (Move Recognition).
Raet used Air Cutter on Breloom F and barely hits (d20: 5), but dealt 180 hyper effective damage. She rips the Breloom down to its molecular components and was literally gone with the wind (-119/61 HP).

Despite seeing one of them disappearing in thin air, they fought on to avenge their fallen comrade. They now set their sights on the Sigilyph.

Breloom A moved to Raet's left and used Mach Punch (d7: 7) and misses as well. Move Recognition now applies to Mach Punch too.
Breloom C moved to Raet's front and used Dynamicpunch out of desperation (d7: 1) and hits (d20: 18), dealing 16 not very effective damage, but the hit does confuse Raet (46/62 HP).
Breloom B moved to Raet's right and used Mega Drain (d7: 6) on Raet and hits (d20: 13), dealing 1 not effective damage (45/62 HP). They now both know how to avoid getting hit by this in this encounter.
Breloom D charged forward and used Headbutt (d7: 7) on Raet and missed by a mile (d20: 1).
Breloom E moved behind Raet and attacked Raet with Mach Punch (d7: 7) and hits (d20: 19), dealing 11 not very effective damage (34/62 HP).
Orthros used Sludge Wave and centered it on Raet to potentially hit all of the Brelooms. Just before the attack hits, Tenran used Time Out (212/272 HP) and quickly moved Raet out of the way of Orthros' attack.
The Sludge Wave hits all the Brelooms (d20: 12), dealing 114 super effective damage to Brelooms A and E, making them faint (-33/81 HP [A], -29/85 HP [E]); 132 super effective damage to Brelooms B and C, making them faint as well (-58/74 HP [B], -44/88 HP [C]); 116 super effective damage to Breloom D, also fainted (-40/76 HP).

Encounter Results:
Raet and Orthros each gained 5250 EXP
Raet grew to level 37
Orthros grew to level 40 and learned Acid Armor

The last five Brelooms have parts of their bodies beginning to dissolve in the sludge. Tenran sends out Hiroko to freeze the sludge so that he can step on it without much worry, and pull them out to safety. As he was rescuing them, Orthros started glowing; he was evolving. When the glowing stopped, the Grimer evolved into Muk.

As what he did with the Pidgeots earlier in the day, he left a bottle of MooMoo Milk with them and leaves the immediate area.

Tenran finally got out of the forest, and headed for the night lights of Petalburg City. On his way to the Pokémon Center, he was ambushed. The time is 8PM.

Turn 3:
Tenran bashed Granbull A with the shield (d20: 15) and dealt 17 damage (95/122 HP).

Pulse - Lv. 48 Rotom (H)

The following day after receiving the mark of the Brotherhood of the Shadows, Tenran withdrew Aspidredon from the PC. He then proceeded to the outskirts of Petalburg City to fly away so that he wouldn't cause unnecessary heart attacks and panic in the city.

Tenran decided to head back home to Azalea for some vacation time and proper home-cooked meals.

During the trip back to Johto, Aspidredon cut the population of Wingulls and Pelippers by about 200--because he ate them.

The day after winning the Rising Badge, his seventh, Tenran rang up his brother to ask for advice on raising a Dragon-type. They agreed to meet at the Pokémon Center in Blackthorne City. Alexander, Tenran's newly hatched Deino, has bitten and ran into things a lot. It also eats so much it's already costing him a fortune on food.

Hei decided to get Alexander's training started, so that it gets used to battling. He asked Tenran for a mock battle, as he was also raising one, a young Nidoran♀.

When the battle began, Hei commands his Nidoran♀ attack with Scratch but tripped and missed. Tenran commands Alexander to use Dragon Rage and does so. "That's good, he listens to you already. That's quite difficult to do, especially Deinos."

Just as Hei finished his compliment to his brother, Alexander sneezed and the Dragon Rage blew up, taking out both Pokémon. A crater four meters wide and a meter deep was created, Alexander in the center. This has happened once before, when Tenran wanted to see what Alexander could do.

"Well, it seems they both need more practice." Hei said, as he scratched the back of his head. "Especially that Dragon Sneeze of his."

They both laughed at the "Dragon Sneeze" joke. "I'll get it to work, you'll see." Tenran added.

As they headed back inside the Pokémon Center, Hei gives further advice on raising his Deino. "Just have a lot of berries on hand with you. As for the biting, you're just gonna have to get used to it until it matures."

Despite taking himself out, Alexander earned 30 EXP and grew to Level 2.

After an underwhelming Gym Battle for Tenran's eighth badge, the Glacier Badge, he decided to stay a while in Mahogany Town.

The following day Tenran elected to swap out his current team, to give way for his other Pokémon to be trained. He'd been focusing mainly on the heaviest of his heavy-hitters that it has become his way of battling: through overwhelming force.

Tenran deposited Beauregard, Wreak, Gram, Bodhidharma, Shroud, and Doc. He swapped them out for Diablos (Pawniard), Vangaurd (Skorupi), Millicent (Ampharos), Plate (Bronzor), and Alexander (Zweilous). He needed more Dark-types to be included in his rotation, with only a Zoroark and a dragon that can barely control its power.

Alexander, who had since evolved into a Zweilous, still hasn't gotten used to its Dragon-type attacks but has been better at biting things and literally throwing itself onto his opponents. Tenran sent out the other five to be target practice, willingly yet still scared. They're not likely to be severely harmed, and, in any case, they're just at the wide open field beside the Pokémon Center with barely anything else around to hit.

It was already way past noon and barely any progress. Alexander managed to only hit Tenran with a messed up Dragon Pulse. In the face. Much of the surroundings destroyed, they went on practicing into the night, while every now and then Tenran kept looking westward; it's as if something out there calls to him, whirling by his ears.
